Guardian Flight Air Care is a prepaid, air medical transportation membership program - not a travel insurance policy or healthcare plan. Guardian Flight Air Care was created to provide affordable, high-quality air ambulance service to individuals, families and businesses.

There is no limit on the cost of a medical transport.

Guardian Flight Inc. is the largest CAMTS accredited medevac company in Alaska, giving its members the best in response time to an incident as well as the highest level of air medical care.

Membership Benefits

As a Guardian Flight Air Care member, if you are injured or become ill in Alaska, simply call Guardian Flight Inc, and a specially equipped aircraft with a medical team can be dispatched to bring you to the nearest available facility to provide the level of care that is required

Emergency Assistance

Guardian Flight Inc. services are provided to members 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by calling 1-888-997-3822. If you have questions regarding your benefits call Guardian Flight Air Care at 1-888-457-1711.

Membership Eligibility

A Family Membership shall include the named primary member, his or her spouse or domestic partner and five dependants.

Guardian Flight Air Care Memberships apply three days after purchase and continue for one consecutive year.

Air Medical Transport Criteria

If you are medically discharged from the hospital or leave against medical advice and are physically able to travel under you own power, you will no longer be eligible for air medical transport benefits.

All arrangements for medical evacuation must be made by Guardian Flight Inc. Because Guardian Flight Air Care is an assistance program and not an insurance plan, we will not reimburse members for expenses they incur on their own. Decisions regarding urgency of the case, the best timing and the most suitable means of transportation will be made by a Guardian Flight Inc. physician after consulting with the local healthcare provider and the receiving physician.

Air Transport Restrictions/Exclusions

Both the originating and receiving hospitals must be accessible via an airfield with a runway greater than 2500 feet to accommodate Guardian Flight Inc. aircraft.

Up to two (2) family members, business associates and/or traveling companions may accompany the patient, at no additional cost, on a Guardian Flight Inc. aircraft during a transport, provided space is available and the patient care is not compromised. Payment of membership fee entitles the member to the membership services as published at no additional cost to the member. This membership permits Guardian Flight Air Care to collect for services rendered directly from the member's insurer or other provider, if available. If the member has no insurance coverage for the services rendered, the member is still entitled to all Guardian Flight Air Care benefits at no additional cost.

While Guardian Flight Air Care makes every effort to accommodate its members, the patient and an accompanying passenger are limited to one small carry-on bag each due to limited space available on medical aircraft.

Guardian Flight Air Care is solely responsible for the interpretation and application of the rules and regulations communicated in this publication. All determinations by Guardian Flight Air Care shall be final and conclusive in each case. Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. By enrolling as a member, you accept and agree to the terms and conditions of membership.

There is no limit on the cost of a medical transport. And unlike travel insurance or travel platinum cards, Guardian Flight Air Care provides medical evacuations for its members from a local Alaskan company, Guardian Flight Inc.

Evacuation and Repatriation

When a member becomes hospitalized as an inpatient due to an illness or injury while traveling, either in Alaska, Yukon Territory, or British Columbia, Guardian Flight Air Care will provide air medical transportation to the nearest available facility. In the event that hospitalization is required in excess of five concurrent days and the member is medically able to be air medevaced, but not fit to travel commercially home or continue on his/her trip. Guardian flight will repatriate the Air Care member to the hospital of the members choice nearest to the members home.

Emergency Message Relay

Members may send and receive emergency messages to and from relatives, friends and business associates toll free, 24 hours a day, through the Guardian Flight Inc Communications Center.

Transport of Mortal Remains

Membership Eligibility

A travel membership shall include the named primary member, his or her spouse or domestic partner or traveling companion.

Guardian Flight Air Care Travel Memberships may be purchased in advance and redeemed for up to three years. Membership benefits apply for three concurrent weeks after Guardian Flight Air Care is notified of the trip to Alaska. Notification will consist of emailing, calling, or mailing Guardian Flight Air Care your travel dates twenty four hours prior to trip.

Air Medical Transport Criteria

If you are medically discharged from the hospital or leave against medical advice and are physically able to travel under you own power, you will no longer be eligible for air medical transport benefits.

Due to the limited medical facilities and testing available on cruise ships, in some cases the Guardian Flight Air Care Medical Director may require the member to be admitted to a hospital on-shore before scheduling air medical transportation to another hospital.

All arrangements for medical evacuation and repatriation must be made by Guardian Flight Inc. Because Guardian Flight Air Care is an assistance program and not an insurance plan, we will not reimburse members for expenses they incur on their own. Decisions regarding urgency of the case, the best timing and the most suitable means of transportation will be made by a Guardian Flight Inc. physician after consulting with the local attending physician and the receiving physician.

Evacuation flights will be performed if an inpatient hospitalization is required, and the remaining in-patient hospital stay can be completed at a hospital of the member's choice near the member's home, and the member is unable to return to his home hospital via commercial airline without medical escort. Aircraft used for the medical transport of Guardian Flight Air Care members are fully equipped Critical Care aircraft staffed with specially trained medical teams.

A member with mild lesions, simple injuries such as sprains, simple fractures or mild illness which can be treated by local doctors and do not prevent the member from continuing his or her trip or returning home does not qualify for air medical transport.
